Ibiza Beaches

Ibiza offers around 50 beaches in total, which stretch over more than 18km of natural sandy coastline. Many of the beaches in Ibiza offer visitors a number of water sports or outdoor activities to enjoy. Below, we have put together a rough guide to the most popular beaches on Ibiza island.

Ibiza Beaches

Ses Figueretes

Figueretes Beach is within easy reach of the city centre & is formed of several inlets skirted by a boardwalk, along which you can find hotels, bars and restaurants. There are also painters and craftspeople showing off their work there. The beach is 450m long and 25m wide and is protected from the wind – perfect for sunbathing or swimming.


Talamanca Beach can be accessed via the “barca de Talamanca” – a boat which takes you to the beach from the Eivissa harbour. The sandy beach stretches 900m and is always protected from the wind.

San Antonio Beaches

Cala Gracio

This is a beautiful and small cove, enjoyed by many of the locals. There are many services on offer here including refreshments.

Cala Tarida

Located about 15 minutes west of San Antonio is Cala Tarida beach which boasts emerald waters and 285m of soft white sand. There are a large number of hotels around the beach.

Cala Conta

Cala Conta is west of San Antonio after Cala Bassa. The beach can be reached by bus or by boat from San Antonio & you have to use steps to reach the beach area.

Cala Salada

This beach is made up of a large cove and then a smaller one named Cala Saladeta. They are separated by rocky cliffs where fisherman use the dock stalls to shelter their traditional boats. This is a quiet and friendly beach, ideal for relaxing or swimming.

Port Des Torrent

This is a beautiful beach located at the end of San Antonio bay. There are plenty of hotels close by.

Cala Vadella

About 25 minutes from San Antonia is the stunning beach of Cala Vadella.

Calo des Moro

This small & quiet beach is ideal for families. It is located close to San Antonio town & because it is close to several hotels / apartments it tends to be busy. Its located in a rocky area, perfect for snorkelling.

Es Pouet

This is one of the most popular beaches in this area & was given its name due to the existence of an old well located on the seashore. The sea is crystal clear & very shallow here, making it perfect for young children to play & swim.

Sa Galera

This beach area sits at the foot of a craggy cliff & is made up of large stone slabs (originating from an old working quarry). This is an ideal place to sunbathe on the natural terraces or take a dip in the crystal clear waters. Due to its relative privacy & calm surroundings, this beach attracts those who like to practice nudism.


Lying parallel to San Antonio’s main promenade is this lovely beach with very clean sand & a wide variety of services available. Beautiful sunset walks are a must on this beach to fully appreciate Ibiza at twilight.

Sant Joan De Labritja Beaches

Playa de San Miguel

This beach is around 100m long & situated close to San Miguel city.

S’Illot des Rencli

A small cove surrounded by gentle cliffs makes this the ideal place to relax on its warm sands, away from the hustle & bustle. A little exploration of the area will allow you to find small pivate areas between the rocks to enjoy a little privacy. There is also a lovely restaurant nearby, located under the pine grove – where you can sample the delicious local cuisine.

Cala Xuclar

This beach is recommended to those fond of snorkelling. With its calm environment, there is plenty of natural underwater fauna & flora living in the crystal clear waters. also worth noting is the small refreshment stalls offering the opportunity to sample some delicious fresh seafood.

Cala de Sant Vicent

A natural swimming pool is formed by this beautiful cove. The beach also offers stunning views, a nearby tourist centre, hotels, restaurants & shops. The beach is around 400m in length & 30m wide.

Cala Xarraca

A small beach with natural beauty enjoying magnificent views. There is a sense of peace & calm here where you can walk around & soak up the beauty. A small boat trip around the various small coves is worth it to fully enjoy the beauty of this place.

Cala Benirras

Protected from strong winds, this small bay encloses a beautiful beach area with leafy paths through woods and a numbers of local restaurants where you can enjoy the special local cuisine.

Sant Josep de sa Talaia Beaches

Es Cubells

About 300m long & located at the foot of striking cliffs typical of this area is the Es Cubells beach. It is made up of small coves, separated by rock formations & is covered by a blanket of pebbles. The rocky seabed make it perfect for those fond of diving.

Cala Bassa

Cala Bassa beach is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The water is transparent & the sand is soft & powdery white. The other advantage is the abundance of junipers, pine trees and tamarinds that surround it, allowing numerous shady areas in which you can rest from the strong heat. The beach offers free parking, toilets & showers for the public.

Sa Caleta

Primarily a fishermen cove, this beach is of small size & protected from the winds & swell. It is definitely a place of the locals with young families – a lovely place to relax.

Las Salinas

Close to Ibiza, this fashionable beach is a favourite meeting point of celebrities. The beach is around 1500m long & boasts crystal clear waters plus a huge variety of services – making it an appealing choice for many.

Playa d’en Bossa

One the longest beaches in the island, Playa d’en Bossa boasts pure white sand which stretches over 2700m. It is surrounded by lots of hotels, restaurants & shops. This beach is also an excellent place to sunbathe or enjoy one of the many water sports. As there are plenty of shops located on a street running parallel to the sea – this is also an ideal place for those who like a bit of retail therapy. The only downside is that this beach is not very well protected from the wind.

Cala Carbo

A small, protected cove popular with local families & their children. Two lovely refreshment stalls are based here, offering delicious food. Also there is the opportunity to have a relaxing massage by the sea.

Cala Jondal

This is a small pebbly beach where there have been wooden walkways laid down to make access to the sea a little easier. It does not tend to get very busy here, although there are plenty of services on offer.

Santa Eularia des Rui Beaches

Playa de Santa Eularia

A beautiful beach located in the centre of Santa Eularia, which appeals to many due to the stunning transparent waters & excellent quality of the sand. The promenade which runs along the coast has numerous bars, restaurants, shops and other services to meet all your needs. A major outstanding benefit of this beach is that its the first in The Balearic Islands to have been fully adapted for the disabled. The standard (UNE 170001 Standard for Management & Universal Accessibility) means that everyone with some kind of disability can freely enjoy the beach – either on their own or with help provided by a team of Red Cross volunteers, who have been specially trained to assist people with disabilities.


Ramblers & walkers will enjoy this quiet beach because it is situated in a natural environment, with leafy woods through which coast paths wind. There is a refreshment stall on the beach where you can take advantage of the unforgettable views of the coast.

Cala Pada

A beautiful beach of about 200m with shallow clear waters, this is perfect for children to play while adults can enjoy a wide range of services.

Cala Llonga

Cala Llonga beach sits between high mountain formations & there are lots of opportunities to find private coves or corners which aren’t easily accessible but are ideal for relaxing & sunbathing.

Cala Mastella

Well worth a visit – to sample some of the fresh fish offered in the refreshment stall. This unique & peaceful beach is hidden within a small inlet amongst rocky formations.
